| 7th | ELEMENTS & Principles: Line and Color SKILLS: Printing, Creating print plates, drawing from observation, blending, Identifying warm and cool colors. MATERIALS: Yarn, glue, cardboard, ink, brayer, paper, oil pastel, white crayon. | How do I create a useable printing plate with yarn, glue and cardboard? When I draw the design I created, what do I observe? What are warm and cool colors? Which warm and cool colors will I choose to use? |
| 8th | ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES: Radial Symmetry, Color, Line SKILLS: creating mandalas using radial symmetry, using a drawing compass, creating non-objective patterns, using light sources as a drawing tool. MATERIALS: White Paper, Black Sharpie color pencils, compass, ruler | What is radial symmetry? How can I create a pattern and repeat it in a circle? What is non-objective art? |
| 9th | ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES: Form, Space, Value, Color, Pattern, Texture SKILLS: Portraiture, Face formula, Wet on wet water color, Wet on dry paint, glue and oil resists, Mixed media MATERIALS: Paper, Pencils, color pencils, markers, water color, watercolor crayons, charcoal, oil pastels, glue…it’s mixed media! | How Do I use the face formula to draw myself realistically? How can I creatively include an animal in my work? What materials or techniques would work best for my idea? Where can I use at least 4 different meduims? |
| 10th | ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES: Form, Space SKILLS: Drawing Movie Sets in perspective, slab clay technique, glazing. MATERIALS: paper, pencil, clay, slip, clay tools, glaze | How can I draw my movie set to demonstrate perspective? Using a vanishing point on the horizon line will help me to make shapes appear______. To connect slabs of clay I will need to ___ and ____. What details can I included to clue viewers into the movie set I designed? |

7th | ELEMENTS: Line and Shape SKILLS: Understanding Organic and Geometric lines and Shapes, Using variety MATERIALS: Paper, Crayons, Sharpie | Can I create a work of art with organic lines and shapes on one side and geometric lines and shapes on the other half? What is an idea for demonstrating the differences? |
8th | ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES: Space,Line SKILLS: creating illusions of space through objects going In, Out, Over and Under and recalling overlapping MATERIALS: White Paper, Black Sharpie color pencils | What the method to make objects appear like they are overlapping? Can I demonstrate a loop and IOOU? What is a creative scene that can use IOOU? |
9th | ELEMENTS: Form, Space, Value, Perspective and color theory, value SKILLS: Discovering 3 dimensional objects, shading using light sources, affecting objects with perspective, ellipses, creating monochromatic, complementary, triadic, and analogous color schemes, value and intensity MATERIALS: Paper, Pencils, color pencils, markers, Erasers, sketchbooks | How Do I use what I know about forms and overlapping to correctly draw a still life? How do Value and contour lines make objects look 3-D? Do any objects in my still life use ellipses, one point or two point perspective? What is the difference between value and intensity? |
10th | ELEMENTS: Value SKILLS: Contour line drawing, Charcoal, smudging, additive and subtractive drawing techniques. MATERIALS: Toned gray paper, white pencil, charcoal, smudge sticks | How can I illustrate my dream on toned paper? Which two techniques can I use to show more values in my artwork? |

Why should I use a number two brush to outline? How will I use what I know about lines and proper paint brush technique to design my work? What scene from over 100 years ago will be my inspiration? |
| 8th | ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES: Space,Line SKILLS: creating illusions of space through objects going In, Out, Over and Under and recalling overlapping MATERIALS: White Paper, Black Sharpie color pencils | What the method to make objects appear like they are overlapping? Five Minute Museum Artist of the Week

You have to check out Kirina Smigla-Bobinski's Helium Filled Kinetic Sculpture. If you have a chance look the video up on You-Tube you will be amazed. In the meantime, what do you think this could be? It is a floating sculpture with charcoal spikes sticking all over it. The installation is trapped inside a small room and the charcoal drags along along the gallery walls as participants, twirl, toss, and interact with it.Is the artist Kirina, the viewers, or maybe the ball? I really urge you to look at the video! My artists are LOVING this one!
